Tips, refunds and disputes

A tip on GuideGallery is a voluntary thank-you from a guest to their guide, for a tour that has already happened. Here's how tips work, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Last updated 7 October 2026

For the tour, not the photosEvery guest can view and download the gallery free, whether or not they tip. A tip never changes what a guest can see or download.
Always optionalThere's no minimum and no pressure. The guest chooses whether to tip and how much, and pays exactly that.
Paid to the guideTips are processed by our payment provider and paid into the guide's own payment account. We take 0% for the first 30 days, then 5%.

Refunds

Because a tip is a gift for a service you've already received, tips are normally final. We'll refund a tip if:

  • you tipped twice by mistake
  • you entered the wrong amount
  • someone tipped with your card without your permission
  • the tour didn't take place

How to ask: email support@guidegallery.app within 14 days of the tip, with the date, the amount, your guide's name, and the email on your receipt or the last four digits of your card.

Refunds go back to the card or wallet you paid with. Your bank usually shows them within 5 to 10 working days.

Disputes and chargebacks

If you don't recognise a tip, please contact us first. We can usually sort it out faster than your bank can.

If you raise a chargeback with your card issuer, our payment provider handles it under card network rules. We share what we hold about the tip: the gallery, the guide, the time and the amount.

For guides

If a tip is refunded or charged back, the amount comes back out of your payment account, and we'll email you to let you know. Never ask guests to tip in exchange for photos, or suggest a tip is required: see Acceptable use.
